David Gaunt, professor of history Center for Baltic and East European Studies, Södertörn University, Stockholm, Sweden. Ph.D. 1975 Uppsala University. On the subject of genocide in the Ottoman Empire he has written Massacres, Resistance, Protectors: Muslim-Christian Relations in Eastern Anatolia during World War I (2006); Co-editor for Let Them Not Return: Seyfo – the Genocide Against the Assyrian, Syriac and Chaldean Christians in the Ottoman Empire (2017); he has published articles in among others in Études arméniennes contemporaines, Wiener Jahrbuch für Kurdische Studien, Genocide Studies International, and in many anthologies among them A Question of Genocide: Armenians and Turks at the End of the Ottoman Empire, ed. Ronald Suny, Fatma Göçek, Norman Naimark (2011), Shatterzone of Empires: Coexistence and Violence in the German, Habsburg, Russian and Ottoman Borderlands, ed. Omer Bartov & Eric Weitz (2013) . He is member of the International Council of the Institute of the Holocaust and Genocide in Jerusalem. Editorial advisor to Genocide Studies International. Member of Academia Europaea.
