Dr. Chrysoula Karamatsiou

Chryssoula Karamatsiou serves as a history and literature teacher in secondary education. She is a Ph.D. holder of the Department of History and Archeology of the Hellenic and Kapodistrian University of Athens (2009) and holds also a postgraduate diploma (1996) in Modern Greek History. She has written the historical study “The Action and the Rhetoric of Muslim Political leaders in Thrace (1918-1920), Aspects of the Transition from the Young Turks to the Kemalists”, 2017, Grigoris Publishing, Athens. Her scientific and research interests concern the late Ottoman period of the Ottoman Empire: the Young Turks movement, the political leaderships of Muslims and Christians in Thrace and the dominant ideological trends.
