Edip Gölbaşı completed his Ph.D. in History at (BC, Canada) in 2018. His doctoral dissertation offers the first comprehensive study of the major outbreaks of violence directed against Ottoman Armenians in the 1890s. During his graduate studies, he received a number of fellowship and awards, including a Harry Frank Guggenheim Foundation Dissertation Fellowship and a doctoral fellowship at Koç University’s Research Center for Anatolian Civilizations in Istanbul. His publications focus on various aspects of late Ottoman history such as the state and Yezidi communities in the late Ottoman Empire, the nature and politics of Ottoman imperial rule, and intercommunal conflict in eastern Anatolia.
