Euripides Georganopoulos was born in Thessaloniki in 1969. He is married and he has two children. He graduated from the Department of History and Archaeology of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, from where he received his master’s degree and his PhD, specializing in Modern and Contemporary Greek History. His graduate thesis on “The Young Turk movement and the impact on the Greeks of Pontus 1908-1914”, and his doctoral thesis which entitled “The efforts of the Pontic Greeks for self-determination, 1916-1921” have been published. He has announced papers in Greek and international conferences and has written articles mainly on the history of the Pontic Greeks in the 19th and 20th century, but also on other historical issues of the Minor Asia and Greek area. Additionally, he has participated in the creation of software for the lesson of History for the primary and the secondary education. He works as a teacher of Greek literature and History in secondary education.
