Marina Bantiou, Ph.D. Candidate

Marina Bantiou was born in 1991 in Agios Nikolaos, Crete. She is a PhD Candidate in Modern and Contemporary History at Ionian University with a scholarship from the General Secretariat for Research and Technology and the Hellenic Foundation for Research and Innovation. She graduated from the Department of Political Science and History of Panteion University, having also a six-month scholarship at Johannes Kepler Universität in Linz, Austria. Then she received a master’s degree in Historical Research and Didactics. She has worked as a researcher at the National Hellenic Research Foundation at the Department of Neohellenic Research at the Institute of Historical Research. She has participated in conferences and workshops with announcements and in seminars from the University of Harvard and Columbia, New York. She is a member of the Society of Cretan Studies and a member of the Historical, Folklore and Archaeological Society of Crete. She is a co-lecturer of contemporary political history courses in the Department of History and Postgraduate Program Methodology and Critical Edition of Historical and Archival Sources at Ionian University.
